On December 22, 2010 the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued Notice 2001-11 delaying enforcement of nondiscrimination rules applicable to non-grandfathered, insured health care plans under the Affordable Care Act.

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia has held that the requirement that most Americans obtain health care insurance beginning in 2014 is unconstitutional.
